Outside temp sensor probs?
This is the third time now I'm having outisde temp. reading problems. I got into my car at 630 yesterday afternoon in LA (parked inside a parking structure) and the outside temp reading read 84 degrees. When I got to my condo about 4 miles away, 25 mins later (welcome to LA traffic) it was 88 degrees outside apparantly - at 650pm. LA gets hot, I realize - but I have it on pretty good authority that it wasn't 88 degrees at 650pm today in Hollywood CA.
Parked the car inside my parking structure, went to go play vball at 830pm and it was now 77 degrees outside. From Hollywood to Burbank it went from 77 to 74/76 (it kept jumping backing and forth). What really frys me about this is two things: 1: this will be the 3rd time i've taken it in since i bought in december for this issue and 2: the outside reading effects how the internal climate control works and so to get the heat on i have to set it on HI because the CC thinks it's 77 degrees outside when in reality it's in the low/mid 60s (i'm a wimp when it comes to temperature - sue me
)
Anyone have any thoughts?

i drive around LA and the temp definitely fluctuates depending where you are...
many times my gf and i will feel it get slighter warmer/colder and the gauge will react right after
ive driven from my apt near the beach and it will go up 10 degrees in just over a mile.
driving from hollywood area back the temp can drop 20 degrees along the way
at least thats what ive noticed

I think because the sensor is near the wheel well
collected heat from a car that's been driven, then parked, then driven again will skew the temperature readings up. I have this too: when I drive somewhere and get out, upon returning to the car, the temp is always 5-10f too high. Then, after getting on the road, it goes back down.
