Default Part # for coolant temp sensor for a 180?????

Trying to fix my GIAC high rpms flutter and bought a coolant temp sensor( part # 059-919-501A). It does not fit. It's close, they both have 4 pronged leads to connect but the stock one is square and the new part I just got is round!
Anyone replaced their coolant temp sensor in a 180? or is it just my non-Quattro thats messing things up parts wise?

Default I'm told #059-919-501-A fits all TT's, as well as other....

models 00-04, but the Bentley manual does recognize two different ECT's. I thought there might be a chance the square connector would fit down over the D-shaped header on the new sensor.

Different part for early 2000 TT's. I needed the blue 2002 A4 collant temp sens. Thanks though.
