Default Phhh sound when changing gears

I just purchased a 2002 225 Quattro last week. Although the car seems to work fine, it does this phhhh sound everytime I change gears. I've read that is typical of BOV but the stock TT doesn't have such a valve. I looked under the hood and I saw it still has the stock Bosch diverter valve. I've read that the diverter valve should have a breathy sound. The only modification that I know that has been done to the car is the installation of a Neuspeed cold air intake.

What could be causing this sound? Is it the proper sound of a diverter valve?

Default It's the return that would normally go in to the stock airbox.. it

vents now probably just to the engine bay, so it's much more noticable. No worries.

Default The stock airbox also works as a "muffler" for this sound.

Its normal that its louder with the CAI.

Default CAI allows the sound to process up to the driver.

One of Steve's VTDA really accentuates this.

If you're concerend, get a new Strat or Forge DV and VOILA! Positive control.

Default Open element filters like that are all loud.....>

A big part of the stock airbox is Noise control so you barely hear it with OEM equipment. Depending on the CAI there are levels of sound available depending on what you choose...
