Here's the general view.
To anwer a specific question, yes the arms are independently adjustable for height to compensate for a sloped top tube if you have it.

They are hard to see under the muffler. The receiver mount is bolted to the car; you have to drill to 3/8" holes.

After I mount the bike as shown, I loop a short bungy between the front wheel and the frame so the handlbars don't turn enough to let the tire touch the car. A second bungy lashes the inside pedal to the X-shaped brace on the rack which keeps the bike from swaying fore-aft.
That keeps the bike still relative to the rack. The rack itself can't hit the car. It is quite rigid.
