If something is fairly cheap and not likely to fail, say the armrest or maybe a sway bar then I'd be all over the cheaper price. Something more expensive and complicated I'm likely to pay more for the product in case I do need the support. If you're paying $1800 for Stoptechs(or whatever) isn't it worth the extra $100 or so to know that if you need any help you're going to get it?

i and many others would gladly pay more for good customer service. for high ticket items, quality goes far beyond the initial sale. any dude off the back of a truck can sell you something but will he be there for warranty issues amongst other things. i want to know that if i have any problems or questions, i can call someone and get immediate service. customer service is way under rated and has been too little of a priority for most companies

There are three type of Customer service:
ECONOMY: Focus's on transactions, with a goal of speed & efficency.
SATISFACTION: Focus's on convience, with a goal of meeting specifications.
CARE: Focus's on relationships with a goal of exceeding expectations.
Or in other words, you have BRONZE, SILVER and GOLD Customer Service ratings.
Example: You want to buy shoes.
BRONZE is Wal Mart where you yourself, have to find the correct shoe on shelf, and try it on.
SILVER is JC Penneys where you wait for help, they go out back and get the correct shoe for you.
GOLD is Nordstrom where they take care of you, play live piano music in the background, and they will replace the shoe for any reason.
EACH HAS A DIFFERENT COST. It is up to you to decide which level you want to pay for, with (or without) which benefits.
I'll step off my soap box now. Thank you.
