Poll: What do you consider "putting your car through it's paces", and how often?

Just wondering what you consider driving your car hard. After 1 month, I'm still breaking my car in (getting close to 1K, varying speeds, some spirited driving etc.,), but I do get the urges to really open her up to see what she'll do. It's been hard fighting the force of the dark side.

I pretty much had no mercy one mine from day one. Meaning I sporadically pushed it to red line. It wasn't until I passed the 1K mark that I started driving with the local Audi group and really pushed it hard. Driving on tight, twisty canyon roads is very taxing on the engine and breaks. The turns are tight enough that must be taken in second gear then up-shifted to third for the sprints between the turns. So most of the driving is done in second and third. Plus you don't get much airflow through the engine bay at these speeds so things get pretty hot. I've had my water temp climb as high as 1.5 marks above center. By the time you roll to a stop the breaks are cooking too. I can't say this is good for the car but the fun factor is high. I go to drives like this about every 5 to 6 weeks.

That's what my imaginary headline would state!
Have not let up unless my 5 year old is in the back! Brake dust flying, turbo screaming, adrenal gland pumping, endorphins rushing...
Ahhh...
Was I supposed to break it in?

she's broken in by what you've posted. So drive like you mean it .
Same as SCTT...2-3rd in twisties and switchbacks - though not many are around this area, so not often enough is the second answer.
Saw a "rice" this mornnig with a "wing" so tall it looked like the rear of a 727 had been welded on.

but several times a week I find myself turning off the stereo to be more receptive to the car's behavior as I experiment with speeds, drift angles and error margins around all kinds of corners in everyday traffic.
BTW, putting on snow tires recently made the car much more talkative, revealing dynamics that mostly remained well disguised on summer Michelins that had less than 1/8th inch of thread left on them. People who are new to performance cornering should really take lessons from their snow tires, they give lectures in a much more outspoken way!
