I went to the Valentine site via your website link (muchos gracias!) and checked out their description of "concealed". It appeared to be more for the purpose of hiding the display from other motorists than anything else.
How visible is it to the cop that just MIGHT stop you? I've had good luck not getting speeding tickets after being stopped, and I know a ticket is a foregone conclusion if the cop sees the detector. It sure would be nice to have the protection of the Valentine 1 AND still have the "aw shucks" factor of total stealth.

I have the V1 unit itself tucked up behind the rear-view mirror on the passenger side of the car. The rear laser/radar I have just barely sticking out to get everything from behind. With it setup like this from the drivers seat I can't even see the V1!
Nobody can see it from behind either.
I ran the cable up along the headliner towards the A-pillar on the drivers side and down to the dash. I then got the wire behind the dash and eventually hooked it to Fuse #8, the cell phone for switched power. Others have used different power sources.
The Hidden Display I have smack dab in the middle of the daash blocking what would be for most others the DID. I don't have the Drivers Info Display in mt TTQ. Others that have the DID have placed it higher up, above the Fuel/Temp gauges directly over the Cell phone speaker. If you place it there, you will need to angle it slightly downward so that you can see it through the steering wheel.
As far as a cop seeing the unit? They can't see the V1 itself unless they look from the front of the car and notice the suction cups. Doubtful. The Hidden Display? As long as it is turned off, the unit pretty much blends in with the dash. All you have to do is reach up and over to unplug the RJ11 cord from the V1 itself and it shuts both units off. No more beeps or lights. Just unplugging the Hidden Display will turn on the V1 and it will continue beeping.
A cop would think nothing of you reaching up to the rearview mirror. Just make sure you do it while being pulled over, not after getting pulled over and stopping.
I hope this helped.

and then some. Warning depends on source. Instant-on Ka is tough. He paints you as you hear him. Your technique of slowing down seems to determine if he writes you up or not at least in upstate NY. (nailing the brakes (especially at night) when the V1 lights up from an instant-on just confirms you have a good detector. Downshift and slowing to 5 over seems better/more natural.)
It's not just electronics, its psychology too.
Recent stop was for no front plate in a 2-plate state. Only going 5 over. He wanted to ask about the TT. No license check, no ticket.
Hint: Never admit to anything unlawful. Innocent until proven guilty, etc. Been there, done that...learning by experience.
PS. Get the V1. You won't regret it.
