Power Steering Noise. Need advice.

Power Steering Noise. Need advice.
My brand new TT left the dealer with a chirping noise heard at low speeds. When at idle, you hear the chirp, and when you slightly move the wheel back and forth, you can hear the noise change pitch. (The noise also changes slightly with accelerator changes.)
When the engine compartment warms up, the noise goes away. The noise only seems to occur when cold. The fluid is topped. The belts have been checked. I suspect a power steering pump, but apparently "it checks out" fine, says the dealer.
I would appreciate any advice/comments. Other than this, the car is a 10 in my book.

Re: I've not heard of this before your post the other day...
Yea, I agree. I'll take it back.
The way these posts pile up, I thought my previous post may have been "lost". I guess not.
Thanks for the response.

I don't know if this is the same or not . .
I had a noise coming from between my steering wheel and the steering column. It was heard mostly sitting still, or when parking. Basically during slow speed maneuvers.
The problem turned out to be what is called a clock spring. This is a part of the airbag system. The spring is supposed to have a lifetime grease applied to it and mine either was lacking grease or it wore away. Either way, they ordered the part and repalced it, no noise since.
If this sounds like the same thing let me know and I can get you the part number if you like.

Re: I don't know if this is the same or not . .
Larry, thanks for the note. But mmine is definitely from the engine compartment. It seems to be getting better. I always want to avoid the service trip, but if it continues, I'll just have to demand a new P/S pump.
Thanks again.
Thanks again.
