Default Wow! A couple of stupid questions of my own.

How many dremel heads did that take, and what does that chart of the timing advance actually show?

Thanks

Default Didn't take much at all...>>

I used a straight diamond bit for the heavy metal removal, and a sanding drum for the fine stuff. On the timing, the cooler the temps at the intake manifold, the happier the ECU is and can advance timing more without fear of knock. More timing = more horsepower. That's all a 100 octane program and expensive gas does..This is cheaper and there all the time (on cheap gas!)

Default so..

so you only used one of the diamond heads? and how many of the sanding heads? would cleaning the intake mani with carb cleaner hurt any? didnt know if the carb cleaner would hurt the injector seats anyone know how hard it is to replace the injector seats?

Default 034MOTORSPORT just came out with phenolic spacers and they're thicker than EVOheatshield ----->

Don't know if they're as good but they only cost $57 and are thicker than the EVOheatshield (10mm vs 6.35mm). I'm not 100% sure they'll fit the TT manifold, maybe Steve can chime in....

that "transition port" unit is a good idea - I may pick one up.

Default Not sure it is such a good idea.....>>

It will induce a step and turbulence at the Manifold/head junction. Since these guys don't seem to make a proper small port spacer for our engines, the transition port would only seem to be of value if you had one of those Big Port Dahlback manifolds that is a gross mismatch now..

Default i think you want turbulence & high velocity...

turbulence helps the air fuel 'mix'...but you also want high velocity to get the charge in there.

now its been awhile since i took fluid dynamics, but basically it boils down to a question whether a smaller ID continuous pipe flows more than a segmented pipe with a transision to a smaller ID.

i dont know the answer to that

but my best guess is whatever the effect is, it is not constant over the whole RPM range.

Default Turbulence is good when..>>

Fuel is injected upstream and is mixed with air in the runners (or carbed cars). The TT injector desigh has a long tube to get the fuel to the center of the head port opening. Injector dispersal pattern should take care of any distribution/mixing needed. Steps in the delivery route would not seem good and probably one reason why the DB manifold showed little to no gains. There is something called intake reversion as well which is part of the overall flow design and contributes to proper boost and Cylinder filling.
