Default so Steve, if an average user just put in the evo shield and not have the mani Extrude Hone, how much

of a gain will this job yeild? obviously the pic you posted has info on both the evo shield and EH mani so i would assume only with evo shield yield result in the middle of the two data line. is that a correct/reasonable assumption?

Default The data in that graph..>>

Is timing which is largely a result of the heat reduction from the Evo-shield. Same with the Temp differential charts in my Fotki album. Neither represent flow. Data from our Extrude honed group buy some years ago showed a potential flow improvement of 12-14% so it's a good thing to do as you get toward the end of eeking out the potential of the stock set-up. Not necessary, but nice if you want to maximize efficiencies.

Actually all that data was approx. 2 years before I did the extrude hone..

what i was trying to say is that added turbulence is not bad as long as it doesnt impact flow.

Default you don't really need to take the mani out to head match the gasket correct?

i would assume that it's much easier to head match the gasket if you take the mani off. how much of a labor/works will that involve?

as for EH, i was thinking about it for a long time but i'm not sure the cost of the process worth the result. i think reducing the intake temp is much more worthy than the EH (cost effectively-wise)

Default Dahlback is a small port, it's the APR that's BIG >

And the DB is a very good design btw (bought directly from Lehmann/Skoda, and just tagged DB), even if it doesn't live up to the wild HP claims that were made by it's early advocates ;-)

Actually I've never seen a small port one. Do they exist?

Default is there any tips that you can give when we do this. i think you mentioned

you used 1 diamond bit and 2 sanding drum. it always sound harder when you havent done it before and easy when you did it already so for me, i do not want to screw this up when i take material out of the mani. can all this be done within a day, granted no frikin screws/studs got broken or stripped. that's the only thing that i'm afraid of, it's a frikin pain to go through these things and i know one of the member here had to tow his car to the dealer to get that fix. YIKES!

Default Interesting! >

<center><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/53277/04_13_07_083.jpg"></center><p>best I can tell from this shot, it looks like a small port.

I'm of course not home now, but I'll check later and post now that you've posted that pic; when I got it I admittedly just glanced at the ports and they looked like they matched the AWP/small port head (I have a spare AWP laying around that I bought to port), and since I had(have) the AEB/big port APR mani at the same time, it struck me right (that the DB was small port); maybe I'm wrong.
