Default Problem? "Feature"? (Power Window)

I bought a used 2002 TTQC 225hp last month. Every now and then when I use the one touch feature to close the driver side window it goes all the way up to the closed position then down to about 1/2 way open and stays there. What's this? A malfunction? Couldn't find anything in the manual describing this.

Thanks!

Default Welcome to the Audi Makes Crappy Window Regulators Club

My windows do this too... the passenger windows does it a lot more than the drivers side.

It would appear that the window is binding and the pinch protection kicks in, dropping the window half way. You can try inching the window closed and the pull up on the switch twice to reset it.

Sometimes replacing the window motor or regulator helps. It's a chronic problem with our cars, though not every TT experiences it.

Default Do a search -- there is a secret incantation that

resets the windows, I believe.
Actually, a combination of open/close ignition if I recall...

Default Yeah I know, resetting doesn't work well for me either...

I've been to three dealers for this... they should try to fix it under warranty, but don't expect the problem to completely go away.

Default Put the window all the way up (or maybe down I can't remember) when in the fully opened/closed

position give the control a couple of clicks and it will reset itself.

Default tell them... they know it's a problem

If they won't do it, I'll send you my invoice that explains the part number and what I told them

I had to go in twice to fix this issue... both times they installed different parts
