Default Problem with my wheels

I purchased my set of Axis supermesh last month
and haven't been able to get them on the car because of quality issues with cosmetics.

The wheel was oversprayed. Slight wet spot that got too thick and dried up.

Here it is:
<IMG SRC="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/41330/axiswheel1.jpg">

They offered a 20% reduction of the price of the wheel instead of going through the hassle of sending it back and getting a new one.

The guy at Axis was very nice he wasn't trying to force that on me and acknowledged quality issues.

He wanted to make me a satisfied customer but said that he checked the warehouse and most of the Supermesh wheels had some sort of cosmetic blemish.

No guarantees the next one he sends could be any better. Should I take the 20%. He said that if it pass the 3ft rule and I couldn't see it that it isn't a big deal.

Default I have seen the same type of problem on TWO sets of Supermesh's I have seen!

Not including yours. I would take the 20% and be happy. =) Great looking wheels either way.

Default how far away were you?

I'm very picky and notice little things like that.

I just want to make sure that it isn't something that is easily noticeable to folks who don't pay attention to detail like I do.

Default yes, i have to admit it, They are cheaply made...but

great value for the money. If I had some real cash, i would of have gone for a real 3 Piece wheel such as the LM or HRE

take the 20% off + get free spacers (h&amp;R is you can)

Default awesome idea! I need spacers

cheaply made? hmm, I don't know but they weren't cheap.

They look awesome in person. I think it was a great value. I love the LM's so much but couldn't justify spending all that on wheels right now.

But really how hard is it to not overspray a wheel?

Default i don't want to start a flame war but axis ...

does not make high quality stuff. they are attempting to capitalize on the market of enthusiasts who want a nice looking wheel but don't want to pay for it. it's evident in the quality of the final product and the construction process itself (cast).

please note that i mean no offense to any axis owners -- i think the prices high-end wheel companies charge are obscene, too.

price is relative ... compared to high-end they're not expensive

Default only you know the answer to this question ...

it's a matter of what matters to you, really. you should ignore that b.s. about the three-foot rule -- the only thing that matters is whether the wheel matches your personal expectations and standards. if it doesn't, get rid of it. if they can't promise you a product that satisfies you, go with a company that can.

ps. you should've seen the escapade i went through trying to replace wheel liners for my m3. since they throw those things around in shipment, i had to order them 4 times before i got a set that met my standards.
