Programming Headlights

Programming Headlights
I'd like to re-program (or request the dealer to do it) the headlight behavior when the engine is switched of, and the light switch is left in the headlight position. Can't find any reference to this here, or at auditt.org.
Current behavior: Switch is in the headlight position, ignition switch to off. Headlights go off, parking lights remain on.
Desired behavior: Both headlights and parking lights go off ... UNLESS I deliberately select the parking light setting (leaving only the parking lights on.)
I've actually gotten so used to this behavior on a previous car that I drained the TT's battery to the point it reset the control unit ... twice.
Where can I look through the Control codes? My gut tells me this might be the behavior that ships to Canada - where day time running lights are required.
??
Thanks.

The behaviour that you observe is normal as far as I can tell from my experience.
When you open the driver door with the lights left on you should be alerted by the audible warning so that you remember to shut the lights off.
But I have to agree with you that most recent model cars will shut everything off so that you don't drain the battery. Hell, even a Ford Taurus has a feature where if the ignition is off it will not let anything drain the battery for more than one hour before totally disconnecting the sytem to save the battery. Audi should catch up with other manufacturers on this feature.

Oh, I know it's "normal" here ... I just don't like it! :-) My Subaru Outback did better ...
Just one of those modern features I can't do without.
I'm pretty sure I don't get any audio warning though ... that alone would actually be an improvement (I do get noise for key left in the ingnition.)

Then your car is broken. I leave my lights on all of the time and they chime at me...
and I defnitely do not have my key in the ignition since key removval unlocks both doors.
At least the bzzzzzzzzeeeeeep would remind you.

removal unlocks both doors ??!!
That doesn't happen either. Maybe I have the Bulgarian programming.
Hmmm...
I'll check in the manual again for expected behavior ... then I'll at least have something to complain about with the dealer.
