Purchasing a chip

I imagine it's a big change over stock - I feel like first and second are so sluggish. Is there a big change there?
I remember the day my buddy chipped his 2001 S4 biturbo. Now THAT was a "wow" experience! I hope it's the same when I chip my TT.

All of the post intake tract is under Pressure not vacuumm. Physically impossible to happen. The Urban myth of the intake "Hose Collapse" comes from years ago when someone did a video of it. The intake hose was revised several times, and who knows what restriction was on the filter end. Possible with a stock airbox, dirty filter and an early generation hose. With a VTDA on there it will NEVER happen. Virtually no restriction to crreate a vacuum in the hose. In the early days, many thought the 4K power falloff under chipped boost was the hose. it wasn't. It was the ECU pulling back throttle because of high heat..
That said, Samco's are good and promote smooth flow..

Tough driving stock program honestly. Go with APR with the EMACs... I have them all except Race, no race fuel in my area, otherwise I would have it. I LOVE the Valet mode!

I appreciate it! I was searching for more information on it, as I've read many posts where people say the "hoses collapse" but couldn't find (ok I'm terrible with the AW search function still) why or how. This clears it up greatly.
I suppose, though, if I had a chipmunk stuck in my VTDA, the intake hose could collapse? I would have bigger problems on my hands at that point.![Smile](https://www.audiworld.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
Well, I figure I might as well pick up the Samco hose(s) anyway, for a few reasons:
1) Smoother airflow as you mention
2) They look better than stock (from the pictures I've seen)
3) Might as well, as I hunt for my oil seepage problem, "temporarily removing" some hoses..would be a shame to put the stock ones back in![Smile](https://www.audiworld.com/forums/images/smilies/smile.gif)
