Pushing it too hard??

Okay, I've had my 225QC for over a week now and I LOVE the car and now that it's past my 1000miles (although, some ppl say that you don't need to break in the car), I can push this car harder, but I'm worried I might push it too hard. My last car, a measely (sp?) Honda CRX, I pushed it to the limit many of times, but this car, being my baby and all (I'm sure most if not all of you feel the same way), I'm worried about hitting the pedal too hard and running down the engine earlier than I would like. I know, that's the whole point in having this car, is to drive fast and hard, but does anyone else feel this protective? Any thoughts? Is there adverse affects on driving hard and revving high all the time?

I feel the same way about my TT also. I already have over 1800 miles on it since I got it before Thanksgiving. Since it is past the factory recommended break in period, I have been driving it harder. However, I rarely give it full throttle. For some reason I just can't bring myself to do it. Anyhow, my advice is to wait until the engine is at proper operating temperature and keep changing the oil. (I'm sure you already knew that) I have decided to go beyond the factory maintenance plan and change my oil every 5000 miles using Mobil 1. I believe the extra clean oil is worth it, it certainly can't hurt anything.
