Default When installing and removing the bolt on the lower shock mount

you'll need to raise the rear suspension so that there's no load on the bolt. You'll feel when it gets to its happy place. Just slowly turn the bolt with a small hand wrench so that you don't have alot of force on it, as you slowly compress the suspension with the jack. The bolt should turn freely in either direction. If you install or remove the bolt with alot of bind on it you risk stripping the threads.

Default Thanks, will get some grease (being careful to keep of threads). Also, I WILL send you

the DEFCONs and bushings, but am thinking about putting my car on ramps (have a pair), jacking the car on the pads, removing the CAs in my driveway, and then just sending you my own CAs. Saves me a $100 (can use to buy Bentley!), but it means I have to wait until Audi is done with the instrument cluster install (1-4 weeks). If I find/feel that period is too long, then I'll just send the bushings and inserts. Will let you know.

Default I looked at this (thanks for the link!) and would like to know why you think this is "better"

than, say, anti-seize compound?

Not questioning, just curious. Am at $1700 out of pocket on this car so far and am trying to slow it down a bit. $15 for grease which does, essentially, what anti-seize does isn't something I want to spend my money on (right now).

BUT, if you say, "DUDE! This is the best freaking stuff to hit the market!" I'll be interested.

Wtg for you opinion.

Default Not sure how it would compare to anti-seize but will work much better than

something like Mobil 1 synthetic grease.

Okay...thanks...BTW, would you happen to know the torque specs on the rear shock bolts?

Default I think the anti-seize would be too thin to be effective. The Energy stuff is very thick

Also, doesn't most anti-seize have metal in it?

Anyway, torque specs.

Bolt at top of shock - 44ft lb
Bolt at bottom of shock - 81ft lb

Bottom bolt needs to be torqued with the suspension loaded, top doesn't.

Do the top bolt first when removing and installing the shock.
