Anyone have a Quaife installed in thier 02J TT tranny? I'm trying to get a solid estimate on how long it should take a qualified mechanic to do this work.
Thanks for any insight,

Here's a good link with info.
Short story
LSD is a form of traction control
EDL is a implementation using ABS
Quaife is a mechanical implementation
Link provides info and the author's biased opinions

I'm upgrading my 180 FWD with an APR Stage III kit, so while that's being done I'm gonna have the mechanic do the Quaife install. I track my car quite a bit and even with the H&R coilovers there's still traction issues with the stock open differential and the power the car generates now (about 215hp or so with current mods - I'll know for sure soon when I do the "before" dyno). With all the extra power the Stage III is going to generate, the Quaife is almost required in my mind for tracks like Thunderhill.
Also, my car is a "first generation" TT and only has ASR, which only cuts the power when it senses wheel slip. Nice in the rain when pulling away from a stop sign but nearly useless at the track. My car has typical FWD understeer and when on the powerband in a sweeper or other turns its better to just open the wheel for a split second when the tires loose grip rather than have ASR bog the engine down.
