Does the ESP only react to the tires slipping through the ABS or does the ESP act proactively somehow?

The reason that I am asking is that the ESP seems to go off when I am making a sudden hard turn. If I turn off the ESP and make the same sudden hard turn, there is no tire squealing or slipping. This makes me think that somehow, the ESP function has input from somewhere else besides the ABS system and can somehow act proactively.

There is a yaw sensor that detects when you're about to spin and applies ABS to 1 wheel.

Solution: Start car, turn off ESP. Problem solved ;-)

Yeah but I like ABS, just not ESP
