Default Question about standard 225Hp TT

Can anyone tell me if the 1.8T in the 225HP TT is basically the same as the one in the A4. Is there any internal differences to the engine or is it just a different turbo, chip and intercooler setup.

TIA

Yoshi

Hardened piston and valves, don't remember the rest, I'm sure someone else does. ;-)

Default Strength of the standard 1.8T engine

Thanks, I am making a decision about getting a Wetterauer chip, either 0.8 or 1.0. I thought maybe is the TT engine was the same, then it would confirm that the A4 1.8T can handle 225Hp with no problems.

Default It's not just the engine.......

Unfortunately we are taught at an early age to disassemble things into individual parts, analyze the parts and then apply that thinking to the whole. A car is a system - combustion, power transfer, body, electrical, etc. The 1.8T engine may be capable of generating more horsepower, but that does not mean the other components can handle it.

Default Heres the scoop.

Dished pistons,
Bigger intake manifold.
Different Cylinder head, lower compression
Claimed larger bearings...(This has yet to be proven with # numbers)
larger exhaust manifold
Additional Intercooler and necessary plumbing
KO4 turbo as opposed to a K03
