Question for does with BMC-CDA intake......... do I have to clean this thing every once in a while?

Question for does with BMC-CDA intake......... do I have to clean this thing every once in a while?
have you ever had any problems with it, or have had to clean/replace it?

15K miles and I have not had to clean it, I take it out every so often
to check but have done nothing more than blow out some big leaves/debris.
The filter is still oily.....
My car is garage kept and only driven in good weather tho'
