My TT comes in next month. I have been reading this forum and notice a lot posts regarding the OEM DV and how it has problems. What is A DV? And what are the problem is causes?

from its own pressure when the throttle is closed. When you shift between gears, the throttle is typically closed between shifts. Without the DV, the pressure produced by the turbo will feedback to the turbo potentially causing damage (stresses)to the turbo. The DV simply allows the air pressure to flow to the intake side of the turbo. A problem DV may allow feedback pressure to the turbo.
Hope this explains what the DV is and what it is used for.

high pressure air to the intake side of the turbo under closed throttle situations to keep the turbo spooled up to help alleviate turbo lag.

damaging it over time. So its primary purpose is protection with an added benefit of keeping the turbo spooled up between shifts.
