Default Question regarding VDO gauges :

I saw a pic of a VDO gauge which had a red needle and everything else in white. But in another with the illumination on, it was all red. So my question is, is the VDO gauge's illumination red & white or just red? TIA

Default as i recall, it has to do with the color bulb you use.

I've used them before in BMWs and GTIs and I think you could go clear, green, or red bulbs/covers... light comes in from the sides like on the Autometer gauges

Default Re: Question regarding VDO gauges :

There are different gauges you can get; some have translucent faces and illuminated needles, others just have a bulb lighting the gauge from the front of the face. Also, VDO offers translucent plastic covers in various colors, (blue, green, red) to color the light the gauges gives off. Check the differences between VDO "Vision" and "Cockpit" gauge lines.

Default How about the "Vision" series?

That's the one I had in mind. How does it work?

Default Thank you both!

Sounds interesting. I think I would prefer a total red illumination...
