Default Question for VAG meisters....

Coming back from New Hope yesterday...worn brake pad light/symbol pops on...know EBCs are not worn so began to run 'mental diagnostics' and came up with several 1. short in sensor wire running to pad...would have same effect as if pad is worn; 2. sensor wire connector (at strut)broken/contaminated etc and shorting...same effect as in item 1; on board diagnostic system glitch. Got home and checked everything...no apparent problems so I disconnected sensor wire from pad at the connector on the strut which would bypass the sensor function. Turned on ignition key...worn sensor symbol still comes on. Now to question...do you have to use VAG tool to 'shut off' worn pad symbol? Any other ideas...

Default I heard that your warranty is voided if ANYONE eats cheesecake on your engine.

And not just the engine warranty. The brakes too!

Default Hmmmm......sounds like a wiring issue.

Unfortunately, the only brake diagnostics that the VAG is capable of are related to ABS, ASR, etc. I think I'd check the pad sensors first.

Nah, no cheesecake residue. He pulled the wheels off and cleaned them yesterday just to be sure. ;-)
