What's the difference? My best guess is that brilliant black is a gloss black, and raven black is like a black version of Denim Blue with the pearly metallic effect.

What's the real scoop on these colors?

they should have had on of the blacks and had another color option like YELLOW!!~

I own a Raven 180 TTQ. The biggest difference seems to be in the full light of day, where the Raven takes on an almost charcoal (greyish) hue. At night it looks just like a shiny Brilliant Black. Hope this helps.
