Default A RE40 tire update...

Sorry if everyone knows the official Audi position, but in my search of past posts I found that some people had their "bubbled" Bridgestone(s) replaced at a dealer with no problem and others did NOT.(Dealers would not switch it.)
I talked to my dealer yesterday about my one bubbled tire and he said "no problem. come in and we'll replace it."
So, I am simply offering this as an example of a dealer offering to replace it. That's it.

PS> I did see the Service Circular(Number: AWA-00-11; Dated Nov. 15, 2000) Note - the circular states the damaged tire must have at least 2mm tread depth remaining. So, if you have the problem, and you need an excuse to get it fixed besides a dangerous blowout, this is it. :-)

Default Oh...and a question.

My TTR is a fwd and has approx 8000 miles on the odometer. It has one(1) damaged front tire. I assume the dealer will only replace the damaged tire. Where should the new tire go? Should it go on the rear? Should both rear tires be moved to the front?
Suggestions?

Default IMHO you should take the rears and put them up front, then put the new one on the rear...

I would be less inclined to create differences in the *control* area of the car as opposed to the part that is just along for the ride.....

Keep like parts together on the front, keep the oddball on the rear ESPECIALLY on a FWD
