I think I am going to have to watch the incidences of major problems with the TT closely before taking any further steps to own one...maybe there is a problem with producing them in Hungary...

There are no real major problems. These are very small, but annoying problems that all sports cars have, especially when a new production line starts. I don’t see any problems with the production in Hungary, the factory isn’t run by a bunch of heathens who can’t even tie their shoe laces. I get this impression from a number of posts, it seems that people think Hungarians cannot follow simple instructions. All modern factories are very automated, if there is a problem with a car, it’s usually a design problem (Germany).
No, I’m not Hungarian

I have had my 180fwd TT for 2 months/3400kms now and am happy to say that I have not had a single problem of any kind with my car in this period (knock on wood!). (Of course, having said that, I expect that the car won't start or something like that, when I get in to drive it at lunch time today.)
Everytime I get in to drive it I still smile and get a little adrenalin boost.
