Default Rear Sway Bar and Exhaust

I recently purchased a Neuspeed 22mm Rear Sway Bar for my '01 Quattro 225 Roadster (not installed yet)-- from what I'm gaining from past posts, 19mm bars are optimal to dial out most of the inherent understeer.. that being, is 22mm overkill? Aren't roadsters especially susceptible to even more understeer due to less structural rigidity? I don't think it would go as far as feeling like "snap oversteer" but if it oversteers too much for my liking or driving skill, there are other ways to combat it-- namely I am already adding 25mm spacers to the rear, and I could always contemplate adding a front sway. Either way, trial and error in that department, but any other roadster owners add a 22mm bar? What are your thoughts?

About an exhaust, can we find a system that compromises between the mellow daily-driving sounds of Milltek/Blueflame and the grunt of a Borla or APR... I don't want droning, but I want it loud enough. Additionally, any 225 owners willing to part out their Milltek or Forge/Blueflame for a great price? I'm in the market for one.

roadsters aren't *that* less structurally rigid than the coupe. Stick with the 19mm

Do you think the 22mm will bring too much oversteer then?

Default If you are planning on putting a kidney on Ebay to pay for further mods,

the 19mm will provide more than adequate response without sacrificing overall ride quality or punishing your internal organs. 22mm sway bar is typically very stiff.

Default Yes.....It's not optimum...

19 has always been the recomendation unless you put a 25 up front (and then you will be glad you sold those kidneys)

Default I'm using the 22mm H&R on my roadster....

It changed the car completely...so much so that the car will let you know "Hey, you're about to f*ck up" about 4ms before it happens. It's the borderline oversteer feeling that I love. I'm looking at having the 25mm front put on in the spring time.

If you're looking for a great price on your exhaust, go with a Magnaflow setup...you can put together a 3" catback for around $350-400, maybe another 100 to have it assembled and installed at a local shop. Otherwise you can find the Blueflame on ebay for $625 shipped.

Search the forum for "custom exhaust" to see some of the guys who've done it...it looks really, really good.

IIRC The 22mm H&R = 19mm Neuspeed in terms of their impact to understeer.

Default I like the H&R>>>

If you have the adjustable H&R its the way to go-more flexibility (19mm soft-22mm hard) and the bushings are better.

Thanks for all the helpful advice.

Would 22mm front/22mm rear work out in terms of neutralizing body roll but having a tad of understeer? I'm afraid the back end will swing a bit much if the rears are too stiff.
