Rear view mirror bracket on newer models 04-06

I just had mine windshield replaced with new factory glass and the attachment clip on the windshield was approximately 1" higher and the rear view mirror is up against the headliner. Was there a change in the length of the bracket on the back of the mirror in the later models or is mine incorrectly assembled? I need to know whether I need to go back to the installer to have different glass put in or go to the dealer and buy a new mirror.

From the photo below it appears that the bottom of the attachment is 3-1/2" down from the top of the glass.
I need someone with a newer car 04 up to take this measurement as well as someone with an 2000 model. TIA.

You have the correct mirror for your car. Apparently your new windsheild is not a 2000 model, thus the mount is too high.
What I would do in your case is find another 2000 model that is original and measure it. Then the winsheild installer should be able to remove or tell you how to remove the mounting bracket so it can be re-glued or re-taped to a lower position on the windsheild so the mirror is properly located and useable.
FYI many TT persons do not like the oval mirror on the later models, so IMO you should try the relocation method if you want to keep your original mirror. Personally, I would gladly trade the unusable homelink feature in my 2004 TTQC for the little center visor flap I had in my 2000 TTQC. I liked that center visor gap closer.
