Default It is the correct mirror and shape for a 2000 TT that has the center flap visor...>>>

You do not have the wrong mirror for your car. What you do have is a later model windsheild for the models where the center visor flap is gone and the space is given over to homelink.

The mounting clip for the mirror has to be moved lower in the 2000 model TT.

You sure that is coupe glass? roadsters have a difference in that area too.

00's and some 01's have the earlier larger mirror - my 00 had the larger mirror

Default Does it say Sekurit Saint Gobain as the manufacturer on the glass?

Default Just stopped by the local VW dealer....they want $149 for the mirror. Do you think

it is possible to remove the mirror mount from the window and move it down?

You have the correct mirror for your car. The windsheild installer gave you a windsheild with the mount in the wrong location. IMO thy should remove and lower the mount to the correct position for a 2000 TT model.

No, they should replace the windsheild. The mount will NEVER stay if they reglue it.
