Default Regarding this thing called a 'Clay Bar'.....

I'm a newbie when it comes to clay bars so please go easy.

I've read some marketing propaganda that the manufacturers put out but that's about all I know. None of my friends have ever used one so they are pretty much worthless on this topic.

I remember one post a long time ago from some guy that scratched his car using a clay bar and that has me very nervous about using one myself.

Are there secrets to it's use? How do you actually use the bar?

Is this nernousness warranted or am I just being a big fraidy cat?

Default Paint cleaning clay is used to remove any dirt in

the paint. I use Griots cleaning products. I wash the car first. Once dry, I use a liquid spray called speed shine to wet down a section of the car and gently rub the bar over the paint. You will see dirt accumulate in the clay, so keep folding it over to keep a clean application side. I then buff dry and move on. Apply wax when you've done the whole car.
