Default We found a BBQ place out here that, while compares to Country Tavern,

falls TERRIBLY short in the grand scheme of things. However, it did indeed have sweetea!

Default I was seriously thinking about taking my camcorder out there this time again

and maybe trying to get some videos from the tower of folks' runs around on the highway response course. I've also got the camera mount that allows you to video from inside your car ... if anyone wants, we can do some tapes that way, too. Should make for some interesting scenes!

The way it looks right now, we're probably going to have about 20 or so show up:

5-7 TTs
7-10 VW Beetles
1 Ram Air Trans Am
1 Mustang GT
maybe a MINI Cooper
one or two other types of VWs (like Jettas)

Should make for some interesting comparisons as to driving styles. There is a 30% chance of some rain Saturday morning, but that's supposed to clear up by noon. Then it is supposed to be partly cloudy / clear for the rest of the weekend. Perfect driving weather.

The rain doesn't make much difference to the folks with Quattro anyway. The times on the highway course during the last TYPHOON session were actually outstanding - several with under the 1:00 mark. Gil ("MobluTT") drove the living daylights out of the highway course even in the rain.

Default FYI >>>

Of the video I got (and I have a lot from that event) the most boring was the highway course from the tower. Maybe educational, but not fun to watch.

Default OK, thanks, Dustin. I may just stick to the videos from inside the car. The only problem with them

is that the driver has to have someone sitting in the passenger seat to steady the seat...otherwise it vibrates so much that the video quality is egregious.

I was talking to Jeremy this evening and he suggested that we should make folks back through the Box if they master it quickly going forward. That, my friend, would make for a challenging exercise. We've done it before, but it takes some serious concentratation...and causes some neck pain, too!

:-P
