Has any one installed one of those remote radar detectors (i.e. Escort SR7, K40 2000P, Whistler 3400) where the actual radar receiver is mounted hidden in the grill of the car and a small display is inside the car? I've been looking at some pictures of TT's with their grill's off, and couldn't determine if there is any decent place to mount the receiver.

If anyone has done this type of installation in the TT, could you let me know how successful it was? -and where you actually wound up mounting the receiver?

yeah, with all the mods detailed with pictures and everything else in this forum, I expected to hear and see a couple of different mounting locations on here for the receivers. I was really surprised I couldn't find any good info. Well - If anyone has installed a remote radar detector in their TT, please let me know how it worked out.

...on both my B5 and B6 A4s. The antenna for the Escort is identical, so it might give you some ideas for your TT.

I got the Escort SRX and it does NOT have the additional metal part so that you can mount the antenna flush in front of the radiator like you did. Why it does not come with this? I do not know, since the Bel and the Escort are the same thing... I'm gonna be takin the grille off this week to try and find a spot to fit that antenna in somewhere. I'll post some pictures when I'm done. But if anybody has any suggestions before i do this- feel free to let me know - THANKS!
