take the cap off the coolant reservoir first, to relieve pressure, then put it back on before removing the sensor. You shouldn't loose more than a few ounces of coolant if done right.

sprayed me in the face.. haha (but I was ok)...
Just make sure you re-seat the new sensor correctly or else when the collant heats up it'll start spraing out everywhere again... and Audi collant ain't cheap!

the spraying collant didn't bother me... it was the feeling dumb part that I didn't realize that collant is under pressure, especially when hot! hahaha... (doesn't it say that on all radiators? "do not open when hot")
