Hi all,
Picked up my 180TTQ Silver/Ebony last night. And have put about 200 Miles on it so far. Last night I was doing the tight turn mountain driving stuff all the while keeping under 4k rpm and learned the hard way about new tires. I actually had the rear end come loose on a tight corner (this has NOTHING to do with the ESP crap). Recovered fine though. Today I drove from San Jose to Santa Cruz then up the Pacific Coast Highway to Half Moon Bay. Had a great time and saw one other TT headed south. BTW saw two Vipers along the way also. No grinding, no rattling just a beautiful smooth (and thankfully uneventful) drive. My new tires and wheels should be in next Friday. I’ll give another report once I get those on it.
Scott

I picked up my car about 6 last night. It had 14 miles on it. Now it has over 400. Did the mountain road thing last night - some of the tightest and windiest roads I've been on -- This car rocks!
Early this am I took off again. Up 101 North of San Francisco to 128 to Mendocino and back down the Coast. This car gets high marks from me. Big upgrade in power for me, and oh, the handling!
Problems:
I have the hatch rattle. I notice if I listen carefully, what some are calling the heat shield rattle/vibration. Also the shifting seems a bit 'notchy.' Don't know how else to describe it. Not as smooth as I think it should be. I'll document stuff from this forum and seek remedies from the dealer. But I am happy!
I had left my old car at the dealers over night. When I went to pick it up today, it was like a stranger. Poor thing.

Yup, the bay area hills have hot some great roads, especially 1. There are especially great roads up and around Lake Tahoe (highways 88,89,395 toward Mono Lake). I can't stop driving the car! I've put on 3,500, since 9/9/99 (when i took delivery of the TTQ). Check out the link to a shot I took while headed toward Bodie (9,000ft elevation ghost town).
