Sorry if this seems like a silly question, but are reprogramming the key fobs on a "new key" according to the FAQ also meant to program the immobilizer portion of the key? I guess the question is, are they one in the same or are they different and require different steps to be taken in order to obtain a fully functioning key and key fob?

Different procedures and more complicated for the key. You may need some dealer codes to get the new key programmed. Atleast this is how it went with my keys when dealer changed the cluster.

only an Audi dealer can program new keys if you have an immobilizer. You must take ALL of your keys to the dealer as they must all be programmed at once. The Audi tech must use his VAS scan tool hooked up to the internet to program keys. There is no other way to do this.
The remote part of the key is different and programming it to lock/unlock is well documented thru Search.

Has anyone used streetkeys.com before then? I assume they do have the ability to do the immobilizer, as they don't sell the remotes.
