Reverse "Pop" in Suspension ... FIX? During DEFCON install? >>>>>>>
#12
Thought it would be :-(
I have already done New Koni Sports - Defcon - front and rear control arm bushings- inner and outer tie rod ends-sway bar links, and of course the strut bushings & bearings. Mine (that pop) never changed. I've ordered ball joints to do next week. You know, on a McPherson strut car, the ball joints don't carry the cars weight. They only locate the bottom of the strut and provide for steering and up and down movement. Fore and aft or lateral wear in the ball joint (not up and down ) could be very minor and yet cause a noise like we have. I'll post results. Should have done this when I did the shocks and defcon install. Would have saved the cost of the alignment. The ball joints are only $59.95 ea at Pure Motorsports. Those guys give great service. Surely this is going to be it. Nothing else left. Except the unibody---surely not!
When we figure this out we'll start a new thread for those other six or more guys to see who may not be tracking this one.
