Default Road@Tracks road test has a 201hp Boxster 0-100mph 16.9sec and a 225hpTTR 0-100mph.,................

17.9sec. Now before I bought my 2002 225TTR I test drove The Boxster and the BoxsterS. I beat the hell out of both cars on the test drive. 0to60mph 0to100mph hard braking etc.
The Boxster was noticeably slower than the 225TT Roadster. The BoxsterS felt about the same in performance. I was a 911 owner for many years, so I was very in to the Porsche.
After driving the TTR 225 I fell in love with its style and interior. The Quattro gave the TTR a solid feel I never had with my Carrera 2. The Boxster looked cheap in comparison with Audis design.
Why does it seem like Audi is getting a raw deal with the magazines? It seems like the Boxster can do no wrong? I cant see it, can anyone explain it to me???

If I was here, I'd say TTs get a raw deal here b/c of seven mystical letters - "Porsche"

Default i assume you are describing the TT "feeling" faster, not actually measuring faster...

i test drove a boxster and tt back to back, and they clearly had different feels to them. the TT has a bit of lag, then the turbo throws you back in your seat. the porsche just builds power linearly, making it "feel" less quick.

also keep in mind that the 0-60/100 times are based on optimal launches, something that rarely occurs on the street (and you'll be replacing clutches fairly often if you do). the 5-60 "street launches" are a better comparison.

I always felt my TT to be "quicker" then my Boxster S, the S is more "powerful" feeling

Default I used to get annoyed that the TT does poorly in magazine races, but now I kind of like it -

since the outcome of real world races is usually different. It leaves most of 'em scratchin' their heads.

Default Many of the trades call the TT an "execution in design and style"...

and then go on to mention that it is not a "real" sportscar....tell that to the Boxter crowd as you are passing them....

Two words: "Porsche" and "handling" imo.

No, I have raced several PCA friends of mine that have Boxsters. I have never lost a race.

Default that's what i was trying to describe. similarly, my integra...

feels "quicker" than many cars i test drive that have significantly more power, and likely measure faster. the lexus is, new audi a4 1.8T, vw gti vr6, etc. have all left me feeling the cars were sluggish in comparison to my integra, when in fact most, if not all, would beat me 0-60, and i'm sure would take me in the 1/4.

but low weight, quick reving, short 1-2 gears, "small" overall diamater tires, less isolation from the road, etc. all contribute to the integra feeling much quicker than it really is. which is why i haven't been as eager to upgrade to a newer car lately. that, and i'm getting more competitive in autocross with it.
