Default Road Trip in Progress......

Well, made it to TT-West, a month late. Left Chicago last Friday headed for Breckenridge, CO and got there on Sat. night. Went to the Emergency room on Sunday sick as a dog and got a Zithromax pack to clear a sinus and chest infection. Hung out at the condo on Monday getting better while everyone road horses. Tuesday felt better and went to Coors factory, mile high stadium, and the Red Rocks park. Wed. went white water rafting and then drove to Durango, where there not a single room in the city to be had. Finally stayed at a mom and pop place 30 miles west of Durango. Went to Mesa Verde today and spent the whole day seeing an amazing place. Now in Albuq., NM and heading back to Chicago over the next couple of days.

I will be challenging anyone for the most bugs on the front of their TT when I get back.

I have never seen so much beautiful and awesome scenery in all my life in Colorado. NM has got to have some of the worst looking land. The Indians really got screwed.

Highest elevation driven to was ~11,500 at Hoosier pass. Total deer count spotted ont eh side of the road is 10. Miles driven so far is around 2200 with 1330 to go. TT is averaging 31.6 mpg on mostly 91 octane. Top speed was 120mph on hwy 160 out of Beauna? Vista, CO. Best restaurant was the Missing Spoon in Beauna Vista. Most awesome site - range of 14'ers in the Rockies.

Thank god for GPS.

Pictures later.

Default Yep, mighty nice out here. If you have the time to take the back way up to I70 on......

your return, through western CO, you can hit the day 2 TT-West towns (on the way to which, UNeek's sig picture was taken), which are incredible sights.

Default Nope, took the southern route - Down to I40 - 830 miles today.

Going to some caverns in the Ozarks on Saturday. Wish I had planned for more time. Would like to have seen Carlsbad Caverns.
