Default true - it depends on your requirements

as long as you don't *need* to carry more than one passenger, it's fine. If you occasionally *want* to carry 2 passengers, there are still solutions - ride in their car, or take more than one car. Maybe not ideal, but it does work.
(If you're that worried about the environment, you shouldn't be driving a car anyway :-)
If you're in sales and need to carry clients around all the time, it's probably not a good solution.

same goes for carrying stuff. if you work in a band and need to carry your drum set, or if you're a golfer, etc., then you've got a problem. but if you only rarely need to carry something big, then as long as you have a friend who can help you out occasionally, you'll be all set. yes, you'll have to learn to pack carefully - the TT Coupe has lots of interior room, but the TT Roadster trunk is certainly small.

I suppose another issue is if you have to park in semi-dangerous places where you feel a convertible top or just a fancy car of any kind might be at risk.

otherwise, a 2-seat roadster can be lots of fun ... :-)

Default TTR is my daily driver in Portland too. Pacific NW great...

..place for a convertible. It's never too hot in the summer to have the top down (try a convertible in Arizona in July) and the winters are mild. I've had the top down regularly every month of the year.

And when the top is up, the TTR is still a great car. Works fine in lousy, rainy weather. In fact, since the defrost system only has a two seat cockpit to control, I have less trouble with fogging up than my wife does with her A4.

Default Every day in every way...

I drive the TT every day here in CT, though when the snow is taller than the car, it's time to rethink and get the Ford Explorer (ugh) from the wif.

In Melbourne Australia. Use my TTR daily, beautiful top up or down, mostly down.

Light clutch and smooth gear shft makes it a pleasure eveb in heavy traffic.

A great little car.

Having a pretty hard winter here, the TTR has come through like a champ. Cleans up nice, too.
