I absolutely love this track, and you will too. It's an extremely fun track that even novices can quickly grasp, but few can ever master.
Join the Audi Club North America Florida Chapter at Roebling Road Raceway the weekend of March 29-30, 2008 for an exciting two-day Driving School. The 2.02-mile asphalt road course consisting of nine turns is located just 20 miles from beautiful historic downtown Savannah, Georgia.
Learning high performance driving in the relative safety of a closed track will add to your enjoyment of your Audi, as well as make you a better street driver. High performance driving in any car is all about learning to control the car, and not having the car control you. It is about concentration, vision, familiarity with your car, its responses to your inputs, and your reactions to its responses. It is NOT about racing, and this is NOT a racing school! Put your brain in a learning gear, and check the racing ego at the door. Remember that this school is about safety, control, and enjoying these great cars.
Registration fees are as follows:
<b>Students: $299 ($350 after 2/29)
Instructors: $50 ($100 after 2/29)

Honestly, I've seen cars go shiny-side down at these events before, and personally, I'd rather be surrounded by something more substantial than two hoops if that happened to me.

The Savannah Tour of Homes & Gardens is the same weekend so we couldn't secure an affordable event hotel on River St like we have in years past, but I plan to get there a couple days early to hit all the usual spots -- Tybee Island, Vinny Van Goh Goh's Pizza, and The Oyster Bar.

I doubt I could do both. Thanks for the heads up on Roebling. Savannah is a nice place.

In reality, it's a farily easy track to drive well on even as a total beginner. Most racers who frequent this venue will however agree that it's an extremely difficult track to master.
I think it's an excellent drivers school track for beginners and intermediates that still challenges advanced drivers. It's extremely safe as long as you obey simple rules (like drive STRAIGHT off the track, don't keep correcting-- yes, you know who you are, CL). It's 2 miles long so with only 15 or so cars out there we don't have much problem with traffic. And, since it's such a popular venue for all the racing organizations down here, we have a nice sized pool of experienced instructors to pull from.

so the competition amongst organizations for dates is pretty fierce. I think we got bumped.

fare better than the coupes. The strengthened windshield frames and substantial hoops are a pretty good cage. Plus, if something catches fire you can actually exit the roadster through the window - a big benefit in my view...
