Default Ross-Tech VAG tool... window recode success

Just got a Ross-Tech VAG tool yesterday and give it a hearty endorsement. Uwe does nice work. Plugged it in that afternoon and in 10 min made my TT about 5% cooler (literally). (Added remote control of windows which dealer refused to do).

The postings in the FAQ section didn't exactly match for my 2001 TT 225QC, but the +64, +32, -04 code offsets did work. CCM wasn't under #07, but there is a button in the software to access the lock module. My factory default was 15884 (instead of 16140 as the FAQ stated, for Bose-equipped), but changing to 15976 made everything work and no bad effects on the Bose. (Well, it is hard to make the bose sound worse than it does, thump thump.)<p>225QC Blk/Blk

Default Help... need codes for climate control, service indicator...etc.

Just wondering if anyone would be willing to post the codes to do some of the following tricks. (This info is probably in the Bentley CD-ROM, but I'm waiting for the 2001 TT 225QC version to come out before buying one.):

• Set the "service in xxxx miles" indicator (mine said 9985 when I picked up my car but this isn't right since the first service interval is 5k miles not 10k!)
• Set the default "wake-up" setting of the climate control to have Recirculate turned on (instead of off)
• Set a default wake-up temperature (say 70degrees)
• Change the function of the button on the trip computer from cycling through "nav, trip, off" to just toggle between "nav, trip" (who would ever want to turn the display off? this is just annoying)

Blue-sky features that probably are impossible but shouldn't be:
• Tell the tachometer to beep at user-defined setpoints (say, 6k RPM) (after all, there is an MPH alarm)
• Show the selected gear in the info display
• Show the transmission clutch shaft RPM in the info display (it would be fun to watch this value and the engine RPM equalize as the clutch is released)

Anyone else out there interested in this stuff?<p>225QC Blk/Blk

Default Plugs into datalink connector.

There is a 16-pin "OBD-II style" Data Link Connector under the dash, lower left side.<p>225QC Blk/Blk

Default Blue Sky

The Service Reminder Interval can almost certainly be set to the mileage you desire, but doing so will require the Adaptation function which isn't fully implemented in VAG-COM yet.

I do not know if/how you can change the wake-up defaults for the climate control or trup computer button functions.

Tachometer beep would be cool, but after you get to know the car you'll learn to find the shiftpoint by feel and sound of the engine..:-) Unless such a function already exists and is just waiting to be turned on, getting this is not very likely.

Selected gear: Is there even a selected-gear switch or sensor?

Clutch shaft RPM: No sensor. Could be calculated from vehicle speed sensor if the black boxes know what gear you've selected..;-)
