Thanks mcpauditt (Mike) for opening a space in your garage for this mod. Mike was finishing up some headlight mods while I worked on the Samco. A very meticulous job - not easy but if you follow all the steps you can do this.

After disconnecting most of the hoses attached to the intake hose, give your engine some love with a big hug and a 7mm stubby to work the clamp off the hose at the turbo end. This was not nearly as hard as I thought it would be.

Then use the dog leash trick (rope trick) to pop the hose off.

Then free the hose from the engine bay.

New vs. old:

Instead of dremeling off the tab on the long sensor thing that sticks into the intake hose, I dremeled a notch into the hose itself (just like the stock hose has).

Assemble everything carefully, being especially carful to orient the clamp at the turbo end correctly. The hose went back on pretty easily, I only had some trouble with the actual clamp being out of orientation. Once I finally got it to twist around on the hose so I could get a socket on it, it was straight forward.

Button everything back up and you're good to go.

Car breathes easier now; nice and smooth. After all the work was done we couldn't resist taking some time to play.
