Default Satellite radio in trouble? Anyone concerned about their investment?

XM is only projected to have $3.5M monthly revenue by year end with over $240M in losses to date. Sirius isn't even in the game, 6,000 subscribers with a $192M loss on $54,000 revenue.

Was Satellite Radio a Big Waste?

Default No worries...regular staions wont offer coast to coast coverage

and Sirius has many automakers offereing their system as an OEM option...BMW,Benz,Audi VAG...
SO slow and hard as it may be for them now...It can only get better from this point..

I agree with Marcus, and XM has several automakers under their belt as well

Default I hope they don't - for the employee's sakes and those who have it .. .but

but imho there isn't enough of a national market for people willing to pay monthly for something they can get for free (radio) or for zero weather issue listening - cd.

Default By that rationale cable TV wouldnt have gotten off the ground

Commercial radio these days has gotten pretty poor in its content, and sometimes I like to listen to the weather channel, comedy channel, or even the BBC world service....something that commercial radio simply doesnt cater to...

Default I guess. But without Cable I'd get TV and have to wait 1/2 - 1 hour for a show

I hate to finish. However, with Radio - its only 2.20 - 3.45 minutes till the next song. I'm more for music libraries on line with bluetooth. Download thousands of songs for 1 month timeframe for a subscription fee - carry in car, house, mp3 player, computer, everywhere without having to transfer anything. That would be cool.

Default I got Phatbox with 40gig for music I choose to listen to...

But to hear random selections by someone else or thought provoking debates or topics can shorten the long drive from Florida to NC....

The monthly fee is what's keeping me away. The cost of the units isn't an issue.

Default 40cents a day is a small price to pay to actually listen to music

and not commercials or DJ's who love the sound of thier own voice..
