Default 100% agreement... worst angle has to be straight from the rear.

Default I've concluded Audi Gmb had the "fix" with the spoiler alone...

understandably, I've also reasoned they could not afford to pull-up short with any mods and went for full overkill given the historical bust of "intended bad reporting" by CBS.

Default The spoiler makes it that much meaner... You'll like it eventually.

I'd have bet my 2nd to last $ on that, too.

Default We referred to it as USAF's version of Newton's laws...

"For every action there is an UNEQUAL and opposite OVER-REACTION."

I think you are absolutely right on this.
They did give Mk I's the option of spoiler only, didn't they?

Default If you really want to get rid of the spoiler...

Offer to trade your rear hatch with a unspoiled 180. There are some who are adding spoilers voluntarily, so you can just trade with one of them. Will probably cost less than removing the spoiler, and will look better than a removed-spoiler hatch could ever look.

Of course, it may be tough to find a unspoiled DG coupe, but it's worth a shot.

Default Yep, spoiler only is/was owners call.
