Props to the older lady in the black Volvo, give you a 8.5 on traffic reading, nine on top speed, and an eleven on right pedal usage.

And I saw the new Maybach(sp?) today...
coming across the hudson on the ferry, the QE2 is about 300-400feet off our starboard bow w/3 helicopters circling. A 4th heli flys in (cargo type) flys over the QE2 and plucks the friggin Maybach parked in a clear cargo container off the QE2 and flys downtown to drop the car off at a trade show.
Wild schtuff happenin in this NYC, wild schtuff!

cool! she is my all time favorite ship.... was she docked at Pier 90?
gawd i just love the Queen. Been on her several times and did a wonderful transatlantic crossing a few years ago. Must have been awful cool watching the helos pluck that car off her! Where the heck was the cargo container though, that the helo could get to it... in the forward hold? All the big stuff is loaded thru the fo'c'sle deck crane... Hmm!

I need to carry my dig camera more often! Never know what your gonna see on my commute. I see the QE2 once a week during my commute.
I'll try to take a close up pic next time I see her!

you want closeups? LOL
i *must* have a thousand pictures of that ship, inside and out. I gotta get them back online one of these days.
They're currently building her "running mate" now, will be called Queen Mary 2 (believe it or not). When launched, will be the largest passenger ship afloat at 1132 feet and 150,000 gross tons. Very similar in styling to the QE2 but obviously larger... unfortunately the design team went with only one funnel (stupid). Also will be the only true ocean liner still sailing other than the QE2 and the Norway (is she still even commissioned? haven't seen her in years). Looking foward to seeing the QM2... i even submitted graphics to the design team back when she was conceived. (the ex worked for Cunard)

QM2
