Is there a way to make the connection better between the scangauge plug and the plug in the car, every bump I go over causes my scangauge to reset.

I've done that a ton, it just feels really really loose.

if you have removed your lower dash section at any time, it sometimes does not get set correctly near the hood release. This makes that area very tight between the port, cable and handle....
Other than that....try what bob said....mine has been flawless

Or did you figure a way to get it a little cleaner?

You're OBD port is a might worn...I would shim the socket a little to make the plug fit more firmly into the car socket..(put a wrap or 2 of electrical tape around the outer circumference of the car side socket)
Or, since the cable exits from the right, wrap it around and over the top of the plug so it exits on the left...this will exert pressure on the socket/plug and keep it stabilized...

i actually removed the side panel on the console, and then routed the wire up underneath that tray....
I then removed the switch panel there, which comes loose very easily, and dremeled a small section of the tray away right beneath the switch assembly.
Ran the cable up through that dremeled area and pulled some extra cable through as it is fairly stiff, and will twist the Scangauge if you try to make it too tight.
From the other end, i connected the cable to the OBD port and ran it along the back bottom section of the Eurodash, and zip tied it taught....
Viola!!
DONE...clean....and once set in the fastest color for display, looks great at night there! ;-)
Sorry....no pix, i had a beer in my other hand when i was doing the install at Schwings! ;-)

I ran the cable under the very bottom of the dash using the pedal cuts to hold it up. Very secure under there so I felt no need for tape, ties, or glue.
I intend to route through the back of the cubby similar to what you're talking about...on a much warmer day than today!
