Default Scangauge HP numbers. WHAT THE !@#$?!

Uhhh, I am pretty consistently getting 277.

And then I'll get 254...

Seems like 254 happens in 4th and 277 happens in 3rd.

This cannot be right... how is horsepower calculated with this gadget?!

I just have a pretty much stock 225 with GIAC and exhaust. (No DP) Oh and the 4bar and ****/BoostMachine.

I mean, I'll take it... but sheesh. Doesn't sound right....

Default Torque is reported by the car....>

HP is calculated from that. It may not be absolutely accurate especially when modded..

Default Are you hitting 110 mph in fourth.......

If not then you haven't reached the peak yet and you're reading a HP value on the still ascending part of the curve.
This is why it's better to get a good reading in 3rd where you only have to hit 82 mph to get to the peak HP.

Default not sure how that thing works, but if it is reading MAF and calculating from there, it's possible

you are getting some spikes maybe by letting off the throttle too fast. If so, try a 3rd gear run but once you hit the RPM's which will yield the highest MAF readings (like 7000), try slowly backing off the throttle from there as opposed to lifting your foot off the gas pedal. I take it that it only records peak readings.

Maybe you should get dyno'd. The scangauge pretty much confirmed the dyno run of 215hp @ the wheels

Default So it has the same limitation as block 120 readings on VAG?

because I assume it taking its reading from that channel right?

Default If that is correct, then the HP is down by "at least"........

the amount that the MAF is low due to the ****. The MAF air flow rate is down by 11% since the **** adds an 11% area increase which makes the MAF reading low by the same amount which makes the HP reading low by the same amount.

Default Hi KrusTTy. You posted earlier that the SG gave you 285 HP and ......

now you state that that number was confirmed by the 215 HP dyno run. If that is the case then you're getting a 32% loss in the drivetrain. I was under the impression that the drivetrain loss for a TT was more like 20%. I sure don't see any confirmation here.
