Thinking about making an adjustable down-link.

Pre-load on a sway bar???? That would be a NASCAR thing, where you turn one way only.

Default NO not correct. My old Porsche had pre-load on the sway bar. Lightening the load >>>

will make your bar less tight. I want mine to be adjustable. It has to have some load for the bar to work correctly. If you have any more questions, I will be happy to direct you to some reference materials.

Default Msauve is correcto.....

No preload. Should be neutral at rest. Probably not much point in doing that unless you're going to fabricate an adjustable pick-up point on the bar itself. Trouble is, if you did that, you could only go stiffer, not lighter.

That's exactly what I am referring to. I have noticed (in the past) having adjustability is good.

Default I am thinking a longer link with adjustable holes for lightening or stiffening... I see this>>

as being useful on the track. I have been playing with the car to see if I can unsettle it in corners and have determined that having some adjustable features may be a good idea.

Default Some Porsche's did have adjustable bars....(I had one)...>

but not for that reason. A bar is just along for the ride until 1 wheel deflects (as in a turn) differently from the other. Many bars have multiple pick up points or sliding adjustments, but only to vary the bar stiffness.
