Schwing - TTDA and O.CT question
<center><img src="http://www.stratmosphere.com/225TT_stage1.gif"></center><p>
I know the chip question has been beat to a pulsating pulp, but I want to know if you have any comments (or have heard anything) that makes the OCT chip better than others on the market - specifically revo.
Having the appearance of a Stock ECU is not an issue, since my TT is off warranty - there is too much info when I run OCT searchs on here, and I want flat torque and boost curves (ie no power spikes), but it is hard to do apples to apples comparisons when dyno comparisons are non existent.
Bob@strat told me a few months back that the OCT chip has more memory, is there any benefit to this or is memory a "marketing feature"
About the TTDA, what type of air filter does the box use?
TIA
I wish apr would give STGIII figures so that my decision can be easier to make

Re: Schwing - TTDA and O.CT question
I think it is pretty much a toss-up when it comes to these chips. No one seems to be unhappy with what they have. The O.CT chip does look very good, given its horsepower and torque curves. Plus, It boosts your horsepower up from 225 to about 250.. I have the O.CT stage III turbo (as in your dyno pic) and am very happy with it. O.CT quality is outstanding.
The TTDA uses a K&N filter.
Are you looking into a stage 3 kit or a chip?

Very nice, I have looked throughout the forum for some one w/ their stage III
I am glad you like it, is it reliable as a daily driver?
My biggest concern w/ OCT is service, I dont know of any place in the DC area that could work on the chip if there are any problems...I gave my beater cavalier to my bro in college...
I still cant justify 8K+ for more power - dont worry I am working to rid myself of the common sense part of my brain
I want Stage 3 - but will grudgingly settle for a chip if all options remain above 6k.
Did you get the 2.0 displacement?

VERY reliable!
It is the daily driver. Not only is it reliable, but it is also drivable. No more noticable turbo lag from the stock even though the O.CT is a K16 as opposed to a K04. The flat hp and torque curves help, too.
In terms of service, you will just have to find a good and reliable independant shop that can fix anything is something happens to go wrong. For the chip, I think Stratmosphere can service it if it needs repairs. They did a good job tuning mine for our low octane California fuel.
If you gey just a chip, that does maen there is plenty of $$$$ left over for other mods :-P

Screw OCT... Giac all the way...
<center><img src="http://pictureposter.audiworld.com/54499/dyno.jpg"></center><p>My car is a bit strong. This is 94 octane X chip versus stock. The correction factor for the dyno is approximately 1.28 conservatively (a stock S4 puts out 180-190whp similar to my car in stock mode).
