Sean, you were right about the MOMO "F16" ****.
It looks nice enough (in the box) and feels great while shifting, it's just too tall and "thin" looking. The transition from bottom of **** (screw cover) to the fluted TT shift boot sleeve looks bad. I also (right off the bat) had to install an "o" ring between the **** and sleeve.
It's going back... Thanks for the heads up...

I wanted to like it because it felt so good in my hand but ....
it just did not look right...
BTW, any MOMO **** you wnat to fit on the TT will look funny unless you customize the *fluted* piece like I had to..

I've gone back to the site I bought it from. It looks like I have a solution.
The Momo leather shift boot cap replaces the ****'s screw cover. This would eliminate the problem of the a). dissimilar metal look, b). The gap between the sleeve and the ****.
I'll also cut the top off the supplied rubber **** inserts. This will allow the **** to drop down a little more so it doesn't look too tall.
I do like how it feels...
It has a nice weight too.. The stock **** is a feather weight in comparison and mine has been buzzing/vibrating which is what started me looking in the first place. I'm not 100% thrilled with the OE rubber bellows boot anyway. I'm an MGB man and always liked the leather boots.

Be careful though....How are you going to attach the bottom of the
boot cover to the aluminum ring? I thought about this as well and really could no come up with a suitable way to do this.
Are you following what I am saying?

I would quess the same way an MGB boot works.
I would use the OE ring as as a template and punch out the holes in the lower/wider section of the boot. The screws (going through the leather) would maintain it's position.
Have you had a different/bad experience?

Ok...you can use the ring as a template but think of this
the MOMO boot has a scrunchy/gathered elastic bottom that is used to hug a lip on most cars.
Ours does not have this, you would have to place the boot on, then the ring, mark the holes for the bolts etc but then you will have part of the boot hanging out from underneath the ring. Are you going to trim it around the ring?

Yes, I would cut off an superfluous "stuff". I'm going to try to keep the OE
boot intact under the leather boot for noise reduction. I might have to do something painful to the sleeve... If all fails I'll just buy a new OE rubber boot : -)
